Rio de Janeiro: Simplesmente Encantador - Parte II

Rio de Janeiro: Simply Charming - Parte II

“Cristo Redentor
Braços abertos sobre a Guanabara
Este samba é só porque
Rio, eu gosto de você...” (Samba do avião – Tom Jobim)
“Christ the Redeemer
Arms wide open over Guanabara
This samba is just because
Rio, I like you...” (Airplane Samba – Tom Jobim)

Nearly impossible it is visiting Rio de Janeiro and not to think about going up Corcovado Mountain to see Christ the Redeemer! This is, without a doubt, an obligatory tour and one that reserves us great emotions.

You can get there by two ways. One is by taking the famous Corcovado Train (Corcovado), through the centenary Corcovado railroad, across Tijuca Forest and savoring the view from higher, and higher.

The other way is by car or van. Here you gain practicality and also the possibility of attending Dona Marta Overlook, one of the most visited places in Rio ‘cause provides an almost total view of the city.

Subir no Trem do Corcovado... romântico!
Going up by the Corcovado Train... romantic! Going up by van... practical! Seeing Rio from Dona Marta Overlook... wow, this is Rio! But, our main goal is to get to the Christ! This is, for sure, one of the highest thrills in this trip.

In a city full of scenic spots, Christ the Redeemer exceeds the vast majority of them and declares itself as one of the best. Worldly famous, it crowns the top of the 710m high mountain. The imposing presence of the 30m high statue – with more 8m of base – combined with a view so wide and sweeping give us a sensation of such grandiosity of the world that it becomes impossible not to feel… well… humble…

Yes, yes, with arms wide open! As someone who waits to give you a hug, that hug the people who love us open to receive, with the intimacy and affection that love brings. Simple and beautiful way of receiving people, this is how Rio receives us!

Único! Você deve sentir!
Unique! You must feel it!
